Annika Enqvist is a curator based in Stockholm. At Stockholm University she studied Design & Arts Theory and Architecture & Planning History. Annika has organised numerous design, crafts and art exhibitions in Sweden and internationally including: Svensk Form; the National Museum of Singapore; Powerhouse Museum, Sydney; and Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich. She produced the Swedish Pavilion at ExperimentaDesign05 Biennial, Lisbon. Annika is the co-founder of The New Beauty Council (NBC).
The New Beauty Council investigates how concepts of the public are constituted and how beauty and ugliness can be (re-)defined. Using the idea of the carnevalesque as a metod, NBC engages with organizations and institutions, which shape and interpret cities through public conversations and staged situations.
Recent projects are Changed Perspectives c/o Stockholm City Museum – four talks about living in and making use of Stockholm, curated and performed by Annika Enqvist and Thérèse Kristiansson, and an urban intervention.
