We humans become who we are in relation to others. Our roles look different in different relationships. They also change over time and according to external circumstances.
This is what I am working on – above all the roles within the family.
In my paintings my family are my extras and my childhood landscape is my stage.
I want to emphasize everyday events and feelings. There is a value in small and seemingly everyday things. The moments between the big events are also of significance. The timeline in my paintings is my family’s timeline. But it is also pictures of the passing of time – of everyone’s encounter with the transient. All of our pictures are accommodated within the picture of the family.
