Solitudes
In the project Solitudes, I am examining space, physicality, materiality, structures and pattern formation. The large-scale constructions in porcelain and cotton string often function both as room dividers and installation pieces with strong spatial and scenographic features.
Thematically, they deal with the process of craft, the monumental architectural spaces and room apprehension. They are cage-like barriers that can be seen through, like illusions. Most often the constructions are site specific, built solely for a specific site or space. They are also performative in the sense that they, through their size, compel the spectator to relate to the surroundings with all senses.
