I’m integrating myself into Swedish society by learning Arabic. My degree project proposes an ongoing artistic process. Through exploring language learning methods that put focus on learning Arabic in dialogue, the work takes part in a discussion about limits of language, culture, communication and Swedish society.

The book “Ge mig en kniv är du snäll”, is made out of fragments relating to this process. It guides you through my first experience of the language and demonstrates how contact with Arabic makes me view the complexity of Sweden.

During the Konstfack Degree Exhibition 2009, you can take part of readings from the book, both at Konstfack and at other places in the surrounding community.
