I am designing a micro-transportation vehicle for people without functioning legs in developing countries. It will serve to generate family income and work as an outdoor wheelchair.
This is a non-profit project, aiming at alleviating the difficult life of people with disabilities and their families. This product will be sold on a hire-purchase system following the principles of the Grameen Banking System. What poor people need the most is a way to make money. To create an extremely cheap product and sell it rather than giving it away creates empowerment rather than dependency.
It is a trike wheelchair that is sustainable and easily serviceable by the use of standard bicycle parts. The project aims to create awareness, social inclusion, dignity, mobility, freedom of choice and income.
